Welcome to the first Stack Up Bit Roundtable. (Name pending.)
What are Bit Roundtables? Well, we ask members of the Stack Up community a question or series of questions, and we gather up the answers in a post. The answers must be less than 128 words. These are a great way to get to know people in the Stack Up community, from our staff and Stack Up volunteers to our streamers & members of our discords.
These will be put out once a month with the chance of increasing frequency based on participation.
Today's Bit Roundtable is special, not only because it is our first, but it's also happening during Women's History Month and falls on International Women's Day. For this Bit Roundtable, we asked some of the women in our community four questions:
Why do you Stack Up?
What brought you to the Stack Up community?
What is something you like about Stack Up?
What games have you been playing/streaming that you're currently enjoying?
Scroll on down and get to know some of the women of our community.

Why do you Stack Up?
My husband and I have been living StackUp’s mission since long before StackUp was formed. We know from experience that gaming can be a useful (and sometimes vital) tool in combatting depression, isolation, and suicide.
What brought you to the Stack Up community?
I was familiar with Stephen Machuga before he formed StackUp. Eventually, I just simply felt compelled to become more of an active member of the StackUp community rather than a casual supporter.
What is something you like about Stack Up?
The community. They truly care about veterans and mental health support, as well as each other. Their dedication to transparency and inclusion are also commendable and noteworthy.
What games have you been playing/streaming that you're currently enjoying?
World of Warcraft, Graveyard Keeper, Divinity: Original Sin II, Stardew Valley, Minecraft.
Becky - Mama Bear
Why do you Stack Up?
Stack Up means a lot to me, and I do it because I am very passionate about our mission, our values - and about supporting others. We also have an amazing community!
What brought you to the Stack Up community?
I found Stack Up through Jester1147, while he was doing Call to Arms last year. I had a look through the website and was immediately drawn to the StOP Program.
What is something you like about Stack Up?
The community is very special, very welcoming and loving. Stack Up is like one big family - one I'm very happy to be a part of!
What games have you been playing/streaming that you're currently enjoying?
I have been playing and enjoying Doom, Hades, Alien, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and Phasmophobia.
Alesha Smith - PerkyDaisy
Why do you Stack Up?
Being a veteran, I know the harsh reality of reintegration and transition into civilian life. I love teaching others what we do and let them know they aren't alone.
What brought you to the Stack Up community?
Wanted to help other veterans. When I got out, there weren't any programs out there like this especially involving gaming. The fact that someone else recognized it helps means everything to me.
What is something you like about Stack Up?
The environment- being around other vets with the same twisted sense of humor makes me happy.
What games have you been playing/streaming that you're currently enjoying?
Eco and Animal Crossing.
Tatoress
Why do you Stack Up?
My husband served, and gaming has been a hobby we both have benefited from in terms of both bonding, and our individual mental health.
What brought you to the Stack Up community?
PerkyDaisy reached out to me from my stream.
What is something you like about Stack Up?
The fact that there are no stigmas attached to mental health.
What games have you been playing/streaming that you're currently enjoying?
Totally *not* addicted to Valheim.

*As of this suggestion from one of our Stream Team Leads, Bit Roundtables will be called Redshirt Roundtables, from now on.*
