Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite was revealed late last year at Sony’s PlayStation Experience in the wake of Capcom Cup. Ever since, we’ve been craving more information on characters, stages, hell, even release dates. Today, seemingly out of the blue, Capcom showcased the first story trailer for the highly-anticipated crossover.
Marvel villain Ultron and Mega Man X villain Sigma are joining forces, and not just figuratively, either. The two fuse together, along with some of the Marvel regulars, the Infinity Gems, in order to exterminate all biological life. While not the most original of ideas, the design looks great and gives us more insight into who will be joining the roster. We got glimpses at returning characters throughout the trailer, on top of the aforementioned Ultron joining the fight. Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, Rocket Raccoon, Chun-Li, Strider, and Chris Redfield will be returning.
The most surprising news might just be the release date. September 19th is when Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will hit digital and physical shelves, and along with it, a season pass. Who’s in this season pass? Right now we only know that Sigma will be the first character. Given how Street Fighter V season two has come along with characters, it’s good to keep an eye on how that’s developing. Given a lack of Fantastic Four or X-Men characters (so far), those characters would sell fantastically in a season pass.
