What are your top 1-5 favorite video game genres?

Action-Adventure, puzzle, Roguelite, RPG, Platformer

Pick a genre, why is it one of your favorites?

Platformer, it is one of the genres that kickstarted me playing games long ago on the NES.

Pick another genre, why is it one of your favorites?

Puzzle (Point and Click Adventures specifically), I remember playing these types of games with my dad growing up, and aside from the benefit of helping keep my mind sharp, the nostalgia kick is always enjoyable.

What are the best games in one of your favorite genres?

King's Quest games always hold a very special place in my heart, but I'm always discovering so many new types. Probably my favorite game ever, though, is Persona 5 The Royal. A good mixture of a game with an excellent story. Although easier than previous versions, it still made you feel deeply about all the characters.

What are your top 1-5 favorite video game genres?

Horror, Sandbox/Factory Building, Fantasy/RPG

Pick a genre, why is it one of your favorites?

Sandbox/Factory Building - There is something incredibly relaxing in focusing on a build, or a design, or trying to create something within the confines of the program, be it Minecraft, space engineers, or satisfactory.

Pick another genre, why is it one of your favorites?

Horror - Dead by Daylight easily!

What are the best games in one of your favorite genres?

Satisfactory. There is something about the aesthetics of the game, as well as the occasional frustration of making a factory or a particular set of machines operate in the way you are trying to make it. The fact it is also multiplayer and supports modding allows it to be different from other games.

Pick a genre, why is it one of your favorites?

Battle royale. The fact that only one person or team comes out on top is just a rush. It feels good to be king of the lobby when you get that W.

Pick another genre, why is it one of your favorites?

Puzzle. I like challenging my smol brain from time to time. I love the ah-ha moment when you solve a part you've been stuck on.

What are the best games in one of your favorite genres?

As the glorified battle royale buff on the channel, it is not a shock to see me on Fortnite and Warzone. I tried out Apex, but I just couldn't get into it. It didn't immediately sink me in like Fort and Warzone did.

What are your top 1-5 favorite video game genres?

  1. 1) Hack-N-Slash Style Action Adventure (i.e., Dante's Inferno)

  2. 2) Metroidvania

  3. 3) Story-Driven First Person Shooter Action-Adventure (i.e., Bioshock)

  4. 4) Puzzle Adventure (i.e., Layton)

  5. 5) JRPG

Pick a genre, why is it one of your favorites?

Hack-N-Slash Style Action-Adventure games hold a special place in my heart. I never cared for the older side-scrolling beat-em-ups, but when the 3D revolution took place, and we started seeing games like Soul Reaver, I fell in love. Since then a few of my favorites have been Dante's Inferno, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and The Darksiders series. I love seeing my characters pick up new moves as they level their weapons with minor RPG elements and become hulking badasses that are equally as effective whether you spam combos or just mash buttons.

Pick another genre, why is it one of your favorites?

The Story-Driven First Person Shooter. I'm a sucker for a great story, and the narrative in so many FPSes draw me in. I'll point out a few below.

What are the best games in one of your favorite genres?

Story-Driven FPS. I love the Halo series because the story is just fun. The atmospheric story-telling in Bioshock simply blew me away. I had several great experiences on the Xbox 360 with games like The Darkness, Prey(the original), and Condemned: Criminal Origins. More recently, games like the Metro Series and Wolfenstein have kept me enthralled for hours. There are so many more I could bring up, including games like Fallout 4 and Portal 2, which just have elements of this genre, but there's not enough room on the internet.

What are your top 1-5 favorite video game genres?

Sims, Arena Shooters, Action RPG's, Roguelites

Pick a genre, why is it one of your favorites?

Sims, particularly flight sims, let me live out the dreams I had as a child and help me cope with my setbacks from achieving those dreams today.

Pick another genre, why is it one of your favorites?

Roguelites are unique challenges, especially when they're done well. They're punishing, but when you overcome them, they're very rewarding.

What are the best games in one of your favorite genres?

Best game in the Roguelite genre has to be Hades. A great story, mixed with fantastic art and sublime gameplay.
