I reviewed Spirit City: Lofi Sessions a year ago, I got into a Lofi music kick for quite a bit. Particularly video game style Lofi tracks. There are some pretty great Legend of Zelda, Baldur's Gate, and even Lord of the Rings tracks out there. It's really great for when you need something a little soothing to listen to while writing.
Update, update, update!
Spirit City has continued to put out updates throughout the year, adding more decor and spirits to find along with new outfit pieces. The additions really add to the longevity of Spirit City as a focusing tool when you've got novelty motivated ADHD. Some of the updates have also included holiday themed items, so if you're a big fan of Halloween and winter holidays, there's plenty to change around for the season or all year long if you're that big of a fan.
There have also been a run of typical longevity updates made that keep Spirit City running smoothly. One of the updates that will be made available to everyone when the Cozy Kitchen DLC is put out is an "always on top" mode that keeps the Spirit City window visible. That's a pretty great update for anyone who is using multiple screens, especially if you have one turned sideways in your set up.
Let's Get Cookin'
That said, even if you don't get the Cozy Kitchen DLC, there's still plenty that Spirit City offers. However, for the low price of $7.99, the Cozy Kitchen DLC is a pretty great addition to Spirit City. After spending nearly all of my spirit credits to buy new stuff to decorate, I created the green and plantiful kitchen of my dreams and a cozy dinner nook that suits me.

Now, I love to cook. I treat myself with some pretty fantastically made dinners. Truth be told, I am very much a good cook and have no qualms saying so. My PC setup is pretty close to the kitchen since I live in a simple 1-bedroom apartment so I did a little thing where I put on Spirit City while prepping dinner and set up timers to check on things, changing the activity of my avatar as I went. It's cool and also a bit silly that I can do that, but hey, I like a good bit of life made art situation. It'd be kind of neat to stream and take a dinner break, put on Spirit City and put on the Cozy Kitchen DLC for viewers, wouldn't it?
More Than Meets the Eye
The Spiritdex has been expanded to include some new Cozy Kitchen spirits and variants. I just caught a cute ducky one while writing up this review, apologies if that's a spoiler but I think it's worth mentioning because he's adorable. There are quite a few new ones to discover, so just follow the hints and play around with your settings and you'll eventually nab one of these guys while you leave Spirit City running in the background of whatever you're up to.

Bubble Bubble Toil and Trouble
New cooking sounds have been added. If you miss the sounds of your mom chopping and cooking or you just find comfort in those types of sound bites, you'll be pretty happy with these newest additions. I put them on and got hungry just listening, which I knew would happen, it's the same reason I can't be around coffee or caramel scented candles. That will tell you those sounds work.
The Verdict?
In the time since I reviewed Spirit City: Lofi Sessions' base tool, we did some tinkering around here on Stack Up News and came up with our own rating system. If you're out looking for something to help you focus or just a little cozy animation to run while you're streaming, I can't recommend Spirit City: Lofi Sessions and its DLC Cozy Kitchen enough. So let's say it in big letters:
SPIRIT CITY: LOFI SESSIONS - COZY KITCHEN DLC IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
