Supply Crate – Brian

Army Veteran Brian would play Call of Duty with his battle buddies while deployed to a combat zone in Afghanistan that left him with PTSD. He requested a Supply Crate to help him take his mind off of the memories that have been disturbing him.

Hello, I'm a 100% disabled OEF Combat Veteran who served honorably in the United States Army. I have been a lifelong gamer since I was a toddler in the early 80's playing Atari with my father, who is no longer here. I was gifted a new NES console on Christmas 1989 and still rent trying to beat Mario! Later on in life I enlisted in the Military and served with 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck Germany and met some other gaming buddies and we played a lot of Call of Duty Black Ops! While deployed to Afghanistan, we suffered an Insider attack that took the lives of two of our soldiers and personal friends of mine as well. I worked the ECP and was called to help medvac the individuals to KAF for medical treatment, but they did not make it. I suffer everyday with the memory impacted in my mind. I can still smell human brains and hear the screams of one of the soldiers for his mother. I take meds now to dull it all sometimes, I've called the Veteran Crisis line several times. I have an old laptop that I use to play games now to keep.my mind busy and it seems to have been the best medicine that I could find to escape my.realiry when I need to. I'm literally begging you to please consider me for a game console and games to play. I hate to beg, but I reached out to you to see this and possibly have some mercy on an old veteran. An old laptop can't really keep up with modern day consoles. We're sorry to hear that Brian has been through so much and that it continues to affect him. We hope that with a new console he can find a reprieve through escaping with video games.
