Supply Crate – Grant

For Army Veteran Grant, video games have always been a way of relaxing. He requested a Supply Crate as life has thrown him through some loops and he had to sell his system to make ends meet.

Being a older vet, 42, that got out 2003 video games had always been a go to way to relax. I served proudly but sadly once I got out I got hit by life extremely hard. Everything was going good, met my wife in 2006 (still married) and have 3 wonderful kids. Spent my time working my way up in the culinary world until I was the executive chef at the Michigan Renaissance fair. May 18 2013 is when my life was radically changed. I had my first seizure one my daughters 6th birthday and got a free ride to the hospital in an ambulance. Over the next 4 years I had 6 more seizures, doesn't seem like to many but believe me it is lol. Then Oct, 17 2017 I had another but this time it was different, it happened while I was awake and not sleeping. I remember the ambulance coming and getting on the stretcher and then waking up 4 days later. I had 3 more seizures on the way to the hospital and went in a-fib. I was put into a medically induced coma and intubated, now I have a 4 day blank spot in my life. Come to find out that I am suffering from symptoms of long term lead exposure from Ft. Wainwright. My kids all have systems that the saved for and bought themselves. I had a system until I got laid off on st. Patrick's day 2023 when I had to sell it to pay a bill. It's taken a while but I finally have a part time job at McDonald's but that naturally means money for bills/expenses/food. All I want is to be able to play games with my kids again. They share their systems when they can but it's not the same playing CoD or fortnite with them as my teammates. If you do read this and even consider me thank you. I don't expect anything to come of this but I wanted to try. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Selling a game console to make ends meet is pretty common and plenty of us have been in similar situations. It's hard to give up something that brings comfort when struggling and if we can help Veterans gain back something they had to let go of in order to provide for their families, we're glad to serve!

I honestly was not expecting to hear from you guys. I was blown away when I got the email. Thank you so much for what you guys do it really means alot to me. Special thank you to jester1147!

Get plenty of gaming in for us, Grant.
