Supply Crate – Heroes Call 4

Welcome to 2018! Let’s check in with the first Supply Crate shipment of the year; this one is code named: HEROES CALL 4 and was sent out to Kevin who is an Army veteran. Take a moment and read the full request below.

Supply Crate

Hi Stack-Up, I feel like I may be a good candidate because I’m currently out of active duty army and just learning that I’ve been diagnosed with PTSD. I always felt that something was different and felt different, but never could’ve imagined it was this. The stigma that goes along with this just makes you feel like something is wrong with you, or you’re broken. It’s hard for me to be in public, and even just at home sometimes I find myself very stressed out wishing I just had a way to “vent” essentially.

I feel that video games are a way to cope with that. Meeting new people who have the same passion as you and don’t judge you based off of those things is a great feeling and what you do as an organization is incredible and I admire what you do. You truly look out for the veterans in need and I would understand if someone else was picked over myself, especially active duty. I understand they have it hard because I have been there. They are all so deserving for everything they do.

Kevin reminds us all of something we here at Stack Up know too well: the invisible wounds of war. The stigma surrounding Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and mental health, in general, can make seeking treatment a last resort for those who really need it.

We also know how gaming can be used as a tool in combating mental health issues and connecting people together. We went to work and filled a crate full of some great gaming gear and send it off to Kevin, who in return sent us back the thank you below along with some great photos!

I can’t even begin to thank you guys for the awesome crate! Never in a million years would I have expected to get something like this. Your organization is amazing and helps out so many people in such cool ways. So glad I’m a part of the Stack-Up Family! Proud to wear this shirt around!

I had to take a picture of everything laid out because there was so much that I couldn’t hold it all up! I hope that’s ok? If you would like other pictures please let me know! I’d be more than happy to take them!

Thank you, Kevin, for all the amazing pictures!

We hope the gaming goodies can go a little way in providing you with some comfort. Remember if you need someone to chat with #StackUpisyourBackUp! We recently announced our online support network, the Stack Up Overwatch Program, giving both civilians and veterans a friendly voice who is willing to listen to their problems!

If you’d like to make a donation that gets sent over to our troops as a Supply Crate, Stack Up takes lightly used PS4, and Xbox One games and gear as well as cash donations. Please help us help these vets out here:
