Supply Crate – James

James' best friend Joshua put him up for a Supply Crate because he could see how being pushed out of the Military for his physical health affected him and he wanted to get him something to cheer him up.

My best friend loved his job in the military, never complained about duty stations and having to do training. While in South Korea, he was able to apply and get transfered to Tennessee to become part of 160th SOAR. He was always dedicated to what he did and always helping the other individuals while in training to make it into 160th. After making it through green platoon and into a unit, he busted his ass to excel and try to move up in the ranks. Unfortunately that was stopped short when they found out he had a heart condition. He was told any raise in pulse or blood pressure can do severe enough damage to kill him. He never wanted to get out of the military especially for something like this. He tried to fight the medical board but was not able to convince them to let him stay him. Now he is trying his best to do what he can to make sure that he can live a suitable life without running the risk of hurting himself or worse. He deserves this because he was the best person I met while in the military, never started any fights and always tried to helps others including myself to succeed even if that meant he was to waste his personal time to run with others.

Getting discharged for medical reasons is a common experience for many Veterans. It can be tough not just because of the physical toll service takes on a Veteran but because it can feel like a failure mentally. It's tough being pushed out when a Veteran isn't ready to go and it takes time to readjust to civilian life while also adjusting to having disabilities.
