Supply Crate – Ratarius

Ratarius requested a Supply Crate as his service has taken a toll on his mental health from being away from his family so much.

I enlisted in the SCNG in 2019 as a 25B (IT specialist). Wanting to make a difference to my community. Went to Fort Benning, GA for my basic training. Completed that in February 2020 and completed my job training at Fort Gordon, Augusta GA in July 2020. With distinguished honor grad. Got to my home unit (Spartanburg,SC) and volunteered to help out with Covid-19 relief. We started off working at multiple churches near our armory. We would see 500 cars daily, packed with people wanting to get a Covid test done. When the vaccine came out, we Started to expand our operation. We started going to schools, colleges, police stations, hospitals. We were constantly working and it was only a small team of us. We supported DHEC, Prisma health, and many other medical teams. Late 2021 my team was tasked with helping out on prisons. We had to check 400 inmate vitals twice a day. We did this for 2 months. Every though we were threaten and verbally abused, we still helped them. At the beginning of 2022, our team became much smaller. We were then sent to hospitals, when their was a nurse shortage. It was only 3 of us and we worked as patient transporters, used EKG’s. All while working 12 hour shifts. Fast forward to September 2022, I was chosen to be apart of the Counter Drug Task Force ( SCNG team). We worked in conjunction with US Marshals, DEA, SLED ( South Carolina law enforcement division), and local police agencies. 1 month later I was told I had to deploy with our Battalion unit to Kuwait. Before I left home, my youngest sister lost her husband to Chrons disease and a heart attack. My mom was hospitalized due to a blood clot near her heart, that made its way to her leg. Where she had to have surgery, causing her to be in the hospital for a month. My oldest sister found out she has breast cancer. Which she is still battling till this day, but things are going well for her. I never wish I left home. In the span of 4 years, I’ve missed 4 of my birthdays. I haven’t got the chance to celebrate them and I’ve missed so much family time. I chose to go on the deployment, cause I knew I was needed and I also went to help take care of my younger battles. Despite with everything going on back home, sometimes I wonder if I made the right decision or not. I have roughly 4 months left, hopefully when I return home. I can truly rest.

Sounds like Ratarius could use a break. Hopefully, a new console can provide him plenty of fun and a good break to get his mind off of things in his rest time.

I want to start off by saying thank you. I am truly thankful for this supply create. Even though my team is not in the pictures here. We are all truly grateful for the Stack Up Organization and all of there sponsors. This is going to help us boost our morale, even though we are back stateside. When we came back home, everyone split up and went back to their assigned duty stations. This will help us keep up with each other. My birthday is next Saturday and I could have not have asked for a better gift than this. Thank you all so much, we truly appreciate all of you!
