Ricky's fiancé Mya requested a Supply Crate in support of him and his mental and physical health.
My name is mya, and I am reaching out on behalf of my fiancé ricky, a brave soul and a proud disabled veteran who has served our country with unwavering dedication. Since returning home, he has been battling PTSD/anxiety, a relentless adversary that often shadows his days and nights with the weight of past traumas. Our group is a small circle of support – family and fellow veterans who understand the language of silence that trauma speaks. We gather often, seeking a way in shared experiences and the unspoken understanding that comes with them. In this safe haven, we’ve found that gaming offers a unique form of , a temporary escape that brings laughter and light into moments that can sometimes feel quite dark. My fiancé, once a leader who navigated the complexities of conflict with courage, now finds a similar, but peaceful command in the world of video games. It's one of the few activities that engage his focus and bring him moments of genuine relief. The camaraderie of multiplayer games replicates, in part, the brotherhood he cherished in the service, while single-player games give him a sense of control and accomplishment that PTSD often seeks to steal away. Why do we make good candidates for a Supply Crate? Because I see the change that gaming brings. I see a group of warriors who've traded their armor for controllers, finding strength and community through pixels and narratives. This crate wouldn't just be a box of games; it would be a tool for healing, a catalyst for connection, and a beacon of hope in the quiet battles that are fought after the war has ended. A Supply Crate would impact us profoundly. For my fiancé, it would be a new arsenal against the shadows of PTSD/anxiety – a reminder that there is joy to be found and new worlds to conquer. For our group, it would be a reinforcement of our bond, allowing us to build new, positive memories atop the old, challenging ones. It would be more than a gift. It would be a lifeline. In a sea of requests, perhaps what makes us stand out is that we are not seeking just entertainment. We are seeking a bridge back to normalcy, a salve for wounds that don't show, and a shared experience that speaks louder than the echoes of the past. Thank you for considering our story and for the incredible work you do. You’re not just sending games; you're dispatching rays of hope to those who have stood in defense of our tomorrows.
It's amazing to see our Veterans have communities of support around them. From family, to friends, and other Veterans who understand the battles we all face. We want to thank Mya for reaching out and especially for the heartfelt request on behalf of Ricky. Thank you so much for sharing all of this with us, it's a great reminder of what we do and why we do it.
The package has arrived and secure thank you all SOOOOO much !!!
Thank you, Mya and thank you to Ricky for sticking life out and being part of a community built on support.
