Today's Supply Crate update has quite a lot of photos, and we're pretty excited about them, so we're going to keep the text in this post short and sweet.
Matthew reached out to us to get a console for VFW Post 1322. The VFW is finding new ways to cater to younger Veterans, and with more and more young Vets growing up with gaming, it's easy to guess why they reached out to us:
I am currently the Commander of the Robert Jack VFW Post 1322. We are the oldest VFW Post in Arkansas and we are a non-smoking, non-drinking Post. We have started a new program to help combat PTSD, especially in our younger members (40-ish and below) by opening our Post daily to allow our veterans to come in and hang out and have some gaming systems in a safe environment free from alcohol and surrounded by folks who care. Our hope with this initiative, along with our PTSD Support Groups, our Hiking For Mental Health program, and our Community Outreach Activities, we can help these Veterans climb out of the darkness in a safe environment surrounded by those that know and care.
We're happy to help other Veteran organizations spread care through the power of gaming, so of course, we packed up a console Supply Crate and shipped it out to Post 1322.
Good morning,
On behalf of the Robert Jack VFW Post 1322, our membership is very thankful in your support of our newest program; Gaming Against PTSD. As part of our Operation: Daily Battle; the XBOX and games you sent will go along way in helping many of our Veterans fight the struggle they sometimes find themselves in.
Thank you again for everything you do and have done for Veterans!!!!
Sincerely,
Matthew H.
Commander
Robert Jack VFW Post 1322
No problem, Matthew! We hope to see even more organizations growing and sharing our mission of aiding Veteran mental health through the power of gaming.
Thanks for taking the time to appreciate these photos sent to us in response. We'd be remiss if we didn't also thank the sponsor of this crate, DJRebirth, for fundraising to help us supply this crate of console and games.
