We check in with another Supply Crate deployment sent downrange to some soldiers station in Kosovo. Michael sent in the request on behalf of the platoon, check it out below:
My name is Michael and I am the First Squad Leader of 3rd Platoon (Centurions), 591st MP CO (Iron Spartans). My platoon is currently working law enforcement duties here at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo in support of KFOR22. We provide on base security as well as security for surrounding NATO bases at various locations within Kosovo.
We are a pretty close knit group of guys and gals who got attached to a National Guard unit out of Ohio to deploy here with making us one of the few active duty units out here. Our mission isn’t the most strenuous but we do work harder than anyone else here on Camp Bondsteel since law enforcement is a 24/7 job. A lot of the guys have had to work on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
I believe our group would make a good candidate to receive a supply crate because we all put forth a lot of effort when it comes to accomplishing our mission out here and we work harder than any other unit out here. My guys deserve a little break and a lot of them like to game in their downtime as a means to pass the time.
We hope you will consider us for a supply crate and regardless of your choice, we love what you guys do and thank you from our little platoon here!
Well Michael we agree your troops certainly do deserve a little break, even if it is digital! We went to work putting together a Supply Crate full of gaming goodies, which is of course all possible thanks to amazing supporters like professional Cosplayer Jessica Nigri!
When Michael and his platoon received the Supply Crate they sent back an awesome photo and some words of thanks.
The guys absolutely loved it! Most of em didn’t believe me when I said there’s an organization out there that actually sends games out to troops, they thought I had won it in a competition or something. The console went to one of the guys who didn’t have one and he is extremely grateful for it, everyone else was able to browse the games and pick some out depending on what they liked.
All in all it was definitely a morale boost to the soldiers and some of em really needed it since this is their first time being deployed. I just want to say thank you again to Dave, the members of Stack-Up.org, and anyone else who helped make this happen! You guys are the real heroes!
Thanks, Michael it certainly sounds like the games were a big hit and a boost to morale, which is exactly what we here at Stack-Up aim to do!
If you’d like to make a donation that gets sent over to our troops as a Supply Crate, Stack Up takes lightly used PS4, and Xbox One games and gear as well as cash donations. Please help us help these vets out here:
