Tabletop Review: Caution Signs

Publisher: Wise Wizard Games

Creators: Danielle Reynolds and Scott Brady

Game Type: Party Game (Drawing)

Wise Wizard Games has released a new, fun, and crazy party game called Caution Signs. With over 200 cards, there are thousands of combinations that can come up, meaning that no two games are likely to be the same! Caution Signs is a combination of drawing, guessing, and deduction. The chaotic scramble makes for an exciting and fun game.

How the Game Works:

In every round there is one person who will be the “guesser”, and the rest of the players are the “sketchers”.

All sketchers get a yellow sketching board and a marker. Then sketchers pull 2 secret cards (1 “caution” and 1 “signs” card), and when the guesser says go, sketchers are given 20 seconds to draw what the cards say.

Once the time is up, the cards are mixed together, adding an additional 2 sets to the pile, then given to the guesser face down. The guesser must then flip over the cards and match the words to the sketches.

After the guesser finishes matching up the cards to the drawings, everyone holds up their fingers to show how many the guesser got right on their drawing.

For every sketcher holding 2 fingers up, the guesser gets 2 points and the sketcher gets 3 points.

For every sketcher holding 1 finger up, the guesser gets 0 points and the sketcher gets 1 point.

After points are tallied up, the next person gets to be the guesser!

If you forget how to tally up the points, do not worry, because at the top of the scoreboard are pictures of how to give out points!

And that is it! The next round begins and let the hysterical fun continue!

Caution: It is as easy as it seems!

This game seems pretty straightforward and simple, and that is because it is. The problem comes when sketchers are not good at drawing, the pairing of words does not make sense, or when the guesser cannot make out what the sketcher drew so their guess is wrong. The extra cards thrown in also put a curveball into the game, because the guesser might think a drawing looks more like one of the random cards than what the sketcher meant the drawing to be! When playing, my cat looked more like a horse, and drawing something like “smelly” seemed to look like shaking! So when my guesser tried to guess my drawing, she was baffled and chose the wrong cards.

This game can take quick twists and turns when tallying up the scores too! One good round for the guesser could mean up to 16 points because this fun party game can be played with up to 9 players: 8 sketchers and 1 guesser.

The game ends when everyone gets at least one turn to be the guesser, or it can continue until there is no more room on the scoreboard to put more points! Either way, a game can be as short, or as long, as the group decides which makes it the perfect party game!

Caution: This game is addicting!

Not only is the setup and breakdown super quick and easy, but the game also flows pretty seamlessly. With so many combinations of cards, the game might never have a duplicate set for a long time! The replayability of the game is almost endless.

CAUTION SIGNS IS A MUST BUY FOR ANY AND ALL GAME NIGHT PARTIES!
